Episode 05: How Data mesh is guiding organizations in their architecture? How can this be applied to the business?

Laurent Dresse, Data Governance Evangelist:

Data mesh is clearly defined as the domain-driven architecture, where the ownership of specific data products is no more at the enterprise level, but clearly at the domain level. These domains have full control over the production controls and exposition of their data products.

From a business standpoint, the data catalog will allow the exposition of these data products and allow business users to identify the products available, understand their content with a business language or business description, understand who are the owners and who are the data stewards, understand as well which elements are available and can be reused.

It’s clearly a federated data governance approach, bringing the ownership and responsibility back to the enterprises, domains, and experts.
